- Stress- Sebum; an oily substance that mixes with dead skin and other particles that clogs skin. Stress creates more of this substance.
- Greasy foods- poor nutrition may cause breakouts. Better to lean off of greasy type foods such as fast food.
- Spicy Food- Peppers and tomatoes used to make spicy foods have an acid called lycopene, that throws off your PH levels.
- Pore-clogging products- Lotions that contain mineral oils can clog up your pores as they are heavy based.
- Exfoliating too much or too rough- you scrub the active acne and spread the bacteria across your skin, making the condition worse.
- Popping your acne- Scars, scars, scars. And well, you make the bacteria get deeper into your pore.
- Detergents with too many chemicals- your skin can react to to the harsh chemicals in some laundry detergents.
- Constantly touching your face- bacteria and oils from your skin can irritate your skin.
- Not washing your face after a workout- All the sweat mixes with the bacteria and makeup already on your skin, causing breakouts.
- Tanning beds or too much sun- The sun dries up your face, causing your face to expel more oil, thus more breakouts.
